On August 27th, local time on CCTV.com, according to the latest public opinion survey by Gallup Consulting of the United States, Americans’ confidence in the U.S. economy is declining due to the rebound of the epidemic caused by the rapid spread of the Delta variant in the United States. 60% of the respondents said they think the US economy is deteriorating, 37% of the respondents said the economy is improving, the margin of error is plus or minus 4%.

It is reported that Gallup conducted a survey of 1,006 adults from August 2 to 17, and the results showed that Americans’ economic confidence index fell from -6 to -12, which is roughly the same level as in February this year. The index is measured from -100 to 100. If all Americans believe that the economy is in poor condition and the economy is deteriorating, it is -100; if all Americans believe that the economy is in good condition and the economy is improving, it is 100.

Gallup pointed out that the new crown epidemic is still the most important issue facing the United States. The overall decline in American confidence in the U.S. economy is related to the recent surge in the number of people infected with delta variants across the United States. The impact of the epidemic on the U.S. economy has also affected the United States. People are optimistic about the upturn of the U.S. economy.
