Ukraine, found mass graves with the remains of thousands of Stalin’s victims

The remains of thousands of people – between 5,000 and 8,000 – were discovered in 29 mass graves near Odessa, in southern Ukraine. Several mass graves had already been discovered in the area in the past.

According to Goutsaliouk, the victims were inhabitants of the region and would have been shot dead by the NKVD, the Soviet secret police, ancestor of the KGB.
