00:01 Media: “Moscow yes to negotiations in Israel”
Russia may be willing to hold negotiations with Ukraine in Jerusalem, as proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was stated by the Jerusalem Post, explaining that it had learned it from a “diplomatic source” after a telephone conversation which took place today between Zelensky himself and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. However, the source adds, Israel “is not sure it wants to host the talks.” “We know from our experience that negotiations that have no chance lead to a worse situation on the ground”, added the diplomatic source quoted by the Jerusalem Post. “We have to see if we can really be useful, if there can be a breakthrough, we will do anything”. The source cited by the daily specifies that Israel does not want to exert any pressure on Zelensky: “it is the wrong thing to do, the president of Ukraine and the Ukrainians must make their decision and they will have our support”. “This is not Bennett’s initiative,” added the source, saying that Zelensky asked to speak with Bennett on Saturday and has long sought Israel as a mediator with Russia.
