ROME – There is a city in eastern Ukraine that has been isolated for 33 days. It’s called Izyum, it’s in the Kharkiv region, equidistant between Lugansk and Donetsk, and it’s another terrible Mariupol. With the aggravating circumstance that from here the citizens – there were 45 thousand before the war – could not leave neither when the siege of the Russians began (since February 24, in practice, but Izyum is surrounded by March 7) nor since the army Russo took over eight days ago.
