LONDRA – May brings important anniversaries for British politics: it is the month in which Tony Blair, in 1997, and Margaret Thatcher, in 1979, won the elections for the first time. Voting held today in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland it does not decide who goes to Downing Street, but it is the best thermometer to understand who will go there next year, if as many believe Boris Johnson will bring the call to the polls up to 2023, or at the latest in 2024.
