NEW YORK– A Guantanamo for migrants. The Biden administration has just published a call for tenders to restart the Migrant Operations Center which in the past hosted those trying to land in the United States by sea, mainly Cubans and Haitians, but was then closed in 2017. The center is inside the American base on the island of Cuba where the maximum security superprison is located, which since 2002 has hosted alleged Islamic terrorists (39 remain): known to the public for violations of the rights of prisoners according to the Geneva Convention for way of indefinite detention without trial and torture.
