United States, India, Japan and Australia: the “Quad” summit launches the challenge to China in the Indo-Pacific

They never explicitly named China, but the leaders of the “Quad” alliance – US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japan’s Yoshihide Suga and Australia’s Scott Morrison – last night relaunched a Washington challenges China in the Indo-Pacific, promising to maintain a “free and open” region and announcing new plans for the distribution of anti-Covid vaccines and for the decarbonisation of economies.
