US CEO fires 900 employees via Zoom

NEW YORK. Mortgage firm Better.com CEO fired 900 employees via Zoom. Vishal Garg announced that the company will be leaving about 9% of its workforce at home just before the end of the year holidays, and has done so with a remote group call. “If you are on this call, you are part of the unfortunate group that is fired – said Garg according to a recording released by CNN – Your employment here is terminated with immediate effect”. So he said employees could get an email from HR with more details. Among the causes with which the CEO motivated the decision there are alleged problems related to performance and productivity: Garg also accused employees of “stealing” from their colleagues and customers by being unproductive and working only two hours a day.
