US elections: Biden and Trump win the primaries in California

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, and former president Donald Trump were the winners of the primaries of the Democratic and Republican Parties, respectively, in California, this Tuesday, 5. The state has the largest number of delegates which guarantee candidates’ places in the November elections.

On Super Tuesday, Trump was already announced as the victor of the Republican primaries in 12 states, including California and Texas. Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley won the Republican Party primary in Vermont and interrupted Trump’s winning streak in the process of choosing the Republican candidate for the White House.

Alaska and Utah had not announced the results of the votes at the time of this article’s publication.

Biden won the Democratic primaries in the 15 states where there was a dispute: Alabama, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. Source: Associated Press.
