Texas abortion law, which prohibits terminations of pregnancy after the 6th week even in cases of rape or incest, has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge. Thus he accepted the position of the Biden administration, which is openly contrary to the law.
However, the state of Texas announces an appeal against the court decision.
Judge Pitman: “Shocking deprivation of a right”
Despite the announced appeal, under the decision of District Judge Robert Pitman, Texas doctors can now return to abortion without fear of being reported. However, not everyone will do it, since the possible legal repercussions are not completely averted, until the procedure is concluded.
The court presided over by Judge Robert Pitman has in any case made the first move to question the constitutionality of the rule. “This court will not allow this shocking deprivation of such an important right to continue one day longer,” Judge Pitman wrote in his decision.
Texas announces appeal
The victory of opponents of the rule, including Joe Biden’s White House, is not final, however. Texas has in fact announced that it intends to appeal against the judge’s decision.
