Rising temperatures, melting glaciers, rising seas and increasingly extreme weather conditions are just some of the consequences of the climate emergency we are experiencing. Phenomena which – when combined with factors such as conflicts – contribute to political, economic and social instability all over the world. The idea that the climate emergency poses a threat to stability is not new, but reports published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Council and Intelligence detail, in no uncertain terms, the risks to national security.
