US, Supreme Court to support law in Mississippi: right to abortion at risk

by admin

WASHINGTON. Conservative US Supreme Court justices, in the majority, seem bent on targeting abortion rights and supporting Mississippi state law banning termination of pregnancy after 15 weeks of gestation. This is what emerges from the hearing during which the arguments of the parties were heard. If this were the case, the historic Roe v. Wade of 1973 who legalized abortion in America.

The Supreme Court has a conservative majority: six judges against three liberals. Three conservative members – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett – were chosen by former President Donald Trump, who spoke out in favor of abolishing the right to abortion. All three judges, three months ago, did not block a Texas law that banned abortion after six weeks.

The decision is expected in June 2022.
