[NTD News November 13, 2021 Beijing time]According to Bloomberg News, the United States has warned its European allies that Russia, which is gathering forces on the western border, is likely to intend to invade Ukraine.
Bloomberg quoted multiple sources in a report on Thursday (November 11), saying that the Biden administration has formally warned the European Union that Russia may launch an offensive against Ukraine. Earlier, both US Secretary of State Blincoln and the Pentagon had stated that they were closely monitoring the build-up and movement of Russian troops on the Uzbek-Russian border.
In response to Bloomberg’s report, the European Union responded on Friday, expressing concern about the situation in Ukraine and Russia.
EU spokesperson Stano: “We will continue to observe the situation. So far, the information we have collected is quite worrying.”
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also warned Russia that the United States, Europe and Ukraine are strengthening diplomatic ties and that if Russia uses force against Ukraine, it will bear the consequences.
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kureba: “These diplomatic efforts include the continued prevention of (military) actions against Russia.”
But Russia quickly denied this. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “Such headlines can only aggravate tensions meaninglessly and unfounded.” He also said that Russia would not pose a threat to anyone.
