The congressional commission investigating the assault on Capitol Hill and the events of January 6 has decided to summon four of former President Donald Trump’s loyalists to a hearing: former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former deputy chief of staff Daniel Scavino, former adviser Steve Bannon and former Pentagon chief of staff Kash Patel. The commission will ask the four to produce documents by 7 October. The hearings will start the following week.
The commission’s goal, as written in the meeting letters, is to seek information about Trump’s behavior before, during and after Trump’s assault on Congress.
