US President Joe Biden plans to appoint Victoria Kennedy, widow of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, as the new ambassador to Austria. This was announced by the White House.
Kennedy is a longtime friend of Biden, and the president has been very close to Ted Kennedy during their years of joint Senate service. Kennedy has been an outspoken supporter of strict gun ownership laws and has worked with several groups active in this field.
Victoria chairs the Board of Trustees Education Committee at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
