USA: polio in New York declared a state of emergency

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency after confirming the spread of polio, traces of which have been found in five counties, including New York City. Polio virus samples are considered “worrying,” meaning they can cause paralysis in people. The state of emergency will make it possible to strengthen the polio vaccination network.
