Usa, shock sentence: the Supreme Court says yes to the use of guns and rifles outside the home. The arms lobby rejoices. The governor of Ny: “Scandal”

After the massacres and deaths that hit the United States due to the indiscriminate use of weapons (the latest story is that of the Uvalde massacre, with the massacre in a school in Texas and immediately after the shooting on the crowd in the street in Philadelphia ) comes a shock sentence. To pronounce it is the American Supreme Court that rejects the restrictions on the port of arms in New York. The Second Amendment, the sages say, also applies outside one’s home. With this decision, the Court effectively sanctions the right to carry arms.
The Senate had opened to a close on arms
And to say that the American Senate had paved the way, a few days ago, for the first significant tightening on weapons in almost thirty years. And this had happened on the day in which the mayor in Uvalde announced that the elementary school, which was the scene of the latest massacre, will be demolished. The bipartisan bill that passed the first procedural vote on Capitol Hill is not the radical change demanded by the Democrats but is nonetheless a signal that a part of the Republican pro-arms bloc at any cost is crumbling.
Now the Supreme Court, however, reiterates a principle that is evidently fundamental for some Americans: the possibility of being able to go around armed even outside the home.

NY governor: “It’s dark day”
It is a “dark day”: this is how the governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, commented on the decision of the American Supreme Court on the restrictions on the carrying of arms established by the State of New York. “It is absolutely shocking that they have removed our right to have reasonable restrictions,” Hochul told reporters.
The arms lobby rejoices
The NRA, the National Rifle Association, the largest gun defense organization, cheers on the Supreme Court’s decision to extend the right to carry a gun, calling it a “monumental victory” and a “watershed”. “Today – commented the vice president of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre – a watershed victory is sanctioned for good men and good women across America and is the result of a decades-long battle carried out by the NRA”. «The right to personal defense and that of one’s family and loved ones – he continues – does not end at home. This decision brings justice that will save the lives of many law-abiding American citizens who live in unconstitutional regimes across the country, especially in those cities and states where it is easy to get out of prison, where there are no bail to return free and where the forces of order are mistreated ». «This – he concludes – is a monumental victory for the members of the NRA and for the owners of weapons throughout the country. New Yorkers will now be able to defend themselves away from home without having to prove that they have “enough need” to do so ».
