The American rapper Snoop Dogg was denounced in California by one of his former dancers who accuses him of sexual violence against him and a colleague. The singer, who is expected to perform in the mid-match interval of the upcoming Superbowl final on Sunday, allegedly forced the two women to perform sexual acts in 2013, while filming a TV show.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in civil court in federal court, also targets Don “Magic” Juan, whose real name is Donald Campbell and presented as Snoop Dogg’s “spiritual adviser”. According to the account of one of the women, who requested anonymity, she was a dancer at the time and performed on stage for the artist and other rappers. After an evening in Snoop Dogg’s studio in May 2013, Campbell offered to accompany her to her house, but actually drove her to her house where she, “exhausted, she fell asleep.”
Plaintiff accuses Campbell of sexually assaulting her early in the morning, before taking her back to Snoop Dogg’s office for an audition later that day. Despite her context, she says she accepted “in the hope of advancing her career”. Once in the studio, she got sick and went to the bathroom. The complaint alleges that Snoop Dogg took the opportunity to open the bathroom door where she forced her to have oral sex.
The young woman is asking for compensation for an unspecified amount. On the day of the filing of the complaint, after the failure of the private mediation between the two parties, Snoop Dogg published on his Instagram account “the season of gold diggers has begun”. “Warning,” he told his fans in this message, without explicit reference to the complaint but accompanied by emojis representing a policeman, a judge and a lot of money.
