The jury and the public attending the 2023 edition of the VillaSoundBilbao initiative, organized by the Bilbao City Council, have chosen the six participating groups in the next one, the “Mentoring” program. The selected bands have been Christmas (from Gipuzkoa), Ithaca (from Gipuzkoa), No (Bizkaia), Lova Lois (Bizkaia), Sophia V (Bizkaia) and Marban (Bizkaia).
In addition to the pass to the “Mentoring” phase (a program that will develop between May and September 2023 and that will adapt to the needs of the selected groups and soloists), VillaSoundBilbao 2023 has distributed other prizes among the 12 participating bands in the first phase of the festival:
· Aste Nagusia Award: a performance at the next Aste Nagusia, on the stage dedicated to Local Rock (only for groups from Bizkaia): Calathea
· Musika Bulegoa Award: a concert in a Musika Bulegoa partner venue (selection made by the sponsor): Marban
· Bilborock Award: 100 hours in Bilborock rehearsal rooms (only for groups/soloists from Bizkaia): Thu
· Festival Award: performance at a festival organized by Last Tour, selected by the Jury. It will be Last Tour who decides the festival where the performance will take place: Entropy.
After this phase, the jury will choose one of the bands for a Tour that will take place in various venues in the state.
