Viral ‘Different Data’ Votes in KPU Sirekap, Bawaslu: Not Determinant of Recapitulation

Jakarta

Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) highlighted the difference in vote counting data at TPS and in the KPU’s Sirekap application. Bawaslu considers the data input error to be unreasonable.

The sirekap which was allegedly marked up went viral on social media

Chairman of Bawaslu RI Rahmat Bagja opened his voice regarding the viral data input error. Bagja ensured that the counting of valid votes was still based on manual and tiered vote counting.

“We must convey that Sirekap is not the determinant of recapitulation. It remains true that Law 7 of 2017 is the recapitulation manual,” said Bagja in a press conference at the Bawaslu office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (15/2/2024).

Bagja said that his party would continue to carry out studies regarding the incident. Bagja also hopes that the Sirekap tool will not experience problems.

“So it’s not Sirekap, Sirekap is a tool, hopefully this tool won’t be a problem, we’ve found it, but we’re still studying the Sirekap problem,” he said.

For your information, the way Sirekap works uses form C portrait results. Where, the results photographed by KPPS are entered into the Sirekap application which then enters the KPU server.
