The CIA allegedly plotted to kidnap Wikileaks founder Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy in London and the former director of the agency under the Trump presidency, Mike Pompeo, in 2017 would have been prepared to take “aggressive action” against the man. This was denounced by an investigation by Yahoo News, reported by the international media. According to the investigation, the agency would also have discussed assassinating Assange, but there were concerns about the consequences of such a murder among the “highest levels” in Donald Trump’s administration. Washington would have been alarmed by the possibility of Russian intelligence secretly bringing Assange to Russia.
