Half a dozen activities have been scheduled in Cabanillas del Campo around March 8, International Women’s Day.

– Women’s Day in the Library
Cultural act of tribute to the women of the Generation of 27, “Las Sinsombrero”. Public reading of selected texts by these writers, starting at 10 in the morning, and various local groups and reading clubs will participate. Free entrance.

– Central event with school meeting
Institutional event to commemorate March 8 organized by the Women’s Center. Reading of the 8M Manifesto and school meeting with boys and girls from the schools of Cabanillas, under the motto “Women of reference in Castilla-La Mancha”. The students from the different educational centers in the municipality will present to their classmates the work they have developed around this commemoration.
12:00 p.m. House of Culture

– Women’s Day at the Institute
Organized by the Municipal Youth Center, school activity at the IES Ana María Matute. The boys and girls of the institute will create a participatory mural, titled “Opening doors”, taking advantage of recess time.

– Seeking…
Organized by the Municipal Street Education Program, youth activity “The search for…”. In it, boys and girls will walk the streets of the municipality looking for four locations with women’s names, and then reflect on their minority presence with respect to tributes to men.

– Women’s Day Paddle Tournament
Paddle Tournament organized by the Department of Sports, intended for female or mixed couples (they cannot be male). To sign up for this activity you must register before March 1 at the Municipal Fitness Center. The winning couple will be awarded with a month of free training in the Municipal Fitness Program.
6-9 p.m. Ramiro Almendros Complex Tracks

– Cinema: “Hidden Figures”
Cinema at the House of Culture, within the “ActivaT” leisure program for seniors. Screening of the film “Hidden Figures”, a 2016 title that tells the story of three African-American women scientists. Free admission.
7:00 p.m. House of Culture.
