China and Cuba have reached a secret agreement for Beijing to set up an electronic eavesdropping base on the island, in what is a new challenge to the United States. The Wall Street Journal reports it quoting American officials. A base in Cuba, about 160 kilometers from Florida, will allow Chinese intelligence services to collect electronic communications in the southeastern United States, where many US military bases are located.
