(Keystone-SDA) Four of the 18 “Most Beautiful Swiss Books” in 2023 were honored this year in Leipzig at the international competition “Most Beautiful Books from All Over the World”. Jana Sofie Liebe from Zurich received “The Golden Letter”, the competition’s highest award.

Jana Sofie Liebe is being honored for the graphic design of the book “Walking as Research Practice,” which is published in Amsterdam by Soapbox Journal, as the Federal Office of Culture (BAK) wrote in a statement on Thursday.

Three further Swiss productions were honored in the Saxon trade fair city among the 550 books submitted from 34 countries: one received a silver medal (“Press Painting” by Sebastian Riemer), the other two received a bronze medal (“The Rationality of the Master Builder” by Thomas K. Keller and “The Emergence of Today’s Man”, designed by Studio Krispin Heé).

At the Swiss level, 18 books from a total of 412 entries were honored this year by the Federal Office of Culture and received the designation “Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2023”.
