Bernhard Seikovits can still dream of playing in the National Football League (NFL). The 26-year-old Viennese had a place on the Arizona Cardinalsā training squad for three years through the International Player Pathway Program (IPPP), but that time has now come to an end.

However, as the Cardinals announced on Monday, the Austrian tight end received another contract for the practice squad due to a new NFL rule.
āFortunately for Seikovits, the NFL has implemented a new rule that allows any team to have an international player on the practice squad,ā the statement said. āThis also reset Seikovitsā schedule with the Cardinals.ā So far, Seikovits was only used in the preseason as a pass catcher and blocker, but now he has a new chance for an NFL roster spot with the team from Glendale.
The only Austrian in the NFL is Bernhard Raimann from the Indianapolis Colts, who, like the Cardinals, missed out on making it into the play-offs.
