AC Milan lately averted their first championship defeat since mid-February in the 32nd round of Serie A. Noah Okafor scores against Sassuolo just two minutes after coming on to make it 3-3.
Milan came back from a two-goal deficit twice. Thanks to Okafor’s sixth goal of the season, the gap between second-placed Milan and Juventus (0-0 on Saturday against Torino) and Bologna (0-0 against Monza) remains at six and ten points respectively.
League leaders Inter Milan drew 2-2 at home with Yann Sommer against Cagliari. In the next round, on Monday in a week against city rivals Milan, Inter can become champions early with a win.
The game between Udinese and AS Roma was abandoned after 70 minutes when the score was 1-1. Roman defender Evan Ndicka had previously collapsed and complained of pain in the heart area. The Franco-Ivorian dual citizen was carried away on a stretcher, conscious and showing with his thumb that he was fine.
After minutes of discussions with the two coaches and the teams, the referee finally stopped the game. According to Italian league rules, the game will resume in the 72nd minute at a time to be determined.
