Two pedestrians were killed on Saturday night near a dancing in Borgworm, Liège. The car driver, who was doing a street race against another, committed a hit-and-run accident.

The Liège public prosecutor’s office provided more information about the circumstances of the accident on Sunday afternoon. The fire brigade of the Hesbaye emergency zone received a call on Sunday around 2.40 am for an accident on the Chaussée Romaine in Borgworm. Two pedestrians were hit by a car there.
According to the first elements of the investigation, two people left the dancing around 2:30 am and each got into their car. Then they started a street race. A vehicle passed a third vehicle on the right, across the cycle path. There were two pedestrians there who were hit.
The two victims, one from Oleye, the other from Liège, were both born in 1981. One of the victims died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injury in a hospital in Liège.
The Liège public prosecutor’s office sent a traffic expert to the scene.
