Siniscola, the crew was recovered from the boat and transferred to a patrol boat of the Olbia Harbor Master’s Office
SINISCOLA.A pleasure boat, with four crew members on board, sank into the waters three miles from Capo Comino after catching fire. The crew was rescued and transferred to the patrol boat Sar Cp 802 of the Olbia Harbor Master’s Office based in the port of La Caletta.
For the large boat, built in the Maori shipyards of Olbia, adrift in flames, the owner had commissioned a company authorized to recover but shortly before 8 am this morning, 22 October, it sank. Firefighters were also on site but were unable to intervene because the flames were now too high.
The investigations by the Harbor Master’s Office are in progress to trace the causes of the fire on board which led to the consequent sinking of the boat.
