Big names for the seventh edition of the review that from 8 to 12 September will bring music to the symbolic places of the historic center
TREVISO. Treviso and jazz: a union that now sounds inseparable and that will be repeated, thanks to new edition of Treviso Suona Jazz Festival, in some of the symbolic places of the historic center of Treviso from 8 to 12 September.
The event, promoted byUrban Contemporary Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Treviso and sponsored by our newspaper, returns for the seventh time with the usual charge and variety of styles and proposals, under the artistic direction of Nicola Bortolanza.
Particular attention will be paid to young people, thanks to the happy return of the ensembles of the Steffani Conservatories of Castelfranco and Venezze of Rovigo, with free admission shows.
The festival will cross the city to the sound of notes with a suggestive formula, confirming the choice to open the doors of the art places wide open to music, which have been closed for a long time due to the health emergency.
Hence, Wednesday 8 September we will start from the courtyard of Palazzo Giacomelli with the bandoneonist Daniele Di Bonaventura and the ten-string guitar by Marcello Peghin: an exclusive project with two great Italian musicians, to combine the tradition of jazz with moods and deep roots. of the Mediterranean. A path that will cross the intimate places of memory, obligatory passages in the sound dimension of the two musicians, with original compositions written specifically for the duo mode. Thursday 9 September, again outdoors in the spaces of Palazzo Giacomelli, an appointment dedicated to cinema: the live projection and soundtrack of a silent masterpiece (this year the project will focus on “Seven Years Bad Luck” by Max Linder , set to music by pianist Bruno Cesselli).
On weekends, vernissages, outdoor performances and the ensembles of the Conservatories (in the Loggia dei Cavalieri).
On Friday 10 September, Fabrizio Bosso and Mauro Ottolini will share the “Storyville Story” guide at the Mario Del Monaco theater, two of the most important brass instruments in national jazz, with a journey out of time that will paint a small and meticulous portrait of the hottest New Orleans of the early twentieth century. The sextet formation, a true orgy of winds and timbral exuberance, will include, among others, the pianist Paolo Birro and the creative voice of Vanessa Tagliabue Yorke.
Then two other big names will come to animate the jazz nights of the Marca, with changing melodies, rarefied atmospheres and full of feeling: Saturday 11 September, at the Sant’Artemio auditorium (seat of the Province of Treviso), the stage and the attention will all be for Enrico Pieranunzi and Gabriele Mirabassi, two of the most acclaimed Italian musicians in the world. Mirabassi, a clarinetist with a suggestive and enveloping sound, and Pieranunzi, a leading pianist on the national scene, have always shone in their repertoire for intensity, communicative pathos and interplay. Theirs is a music that tries to tell stories, in a unique blend of jazz and chamber music with adventurous improvisations, melodic richness, research and intensity.
There will be open-air concerts with the locals agreements, moments in which the stalls will transform the corners of the city into small large open-air arenas.
