WWE Signs Exclusive Cooperation Deals with Netflix and āXā Platform
WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) has been making some major moves in the entertainment industry recently. In addition to confirming a 10-year content license with Netflix, the company has also signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with āXā to provide limited-time match content of less than 5 minutes each through the āXā platform. This new series, titled WWE Speed, is expected to be presented as a two-year, weekly-dated series.
The new WWE Speed series will feature all the famous wrestling stars of WWE and is set to release new plots every week starting from this spring. It will become the latest sports program to be broadcast on the āXā platform. Prior to this collaboration, āXā has also exclusively cooperated with FOX Sports for the FIFA World Cup and is planning to work with NBC Universal to broadcast content from the Paris Olympics.
In addition to the āXā partnership, WWE has recently established a 10-year licensing cooperation with Netflix through its RAW subsidiary. This deal will give Netflix exclusive broadcast rights for āRawā and other wrestling programs, with the agreement set to take effect from January 2025. The licensing deal is valued at a staggering $5 billion and marks Netflixās new foray into live sports content.
These agreements signal WWEās commitment to expanding its reach and audience by partnering with major players in the entertainment industry. Fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of new content from WWE on both the āXā platform and Netflix in the coming years.
