As he did after the defeat against Leverkusen, Thomas Müller faced the media after the final whistle. He said on the “Dazn” microphone: “We should have taken the lead in the first half. We missed the chance to take advantage.” Müller spoke of three clear chances to score. But then came the second half.
“It was characterized by uncertainty. It was almost slapstick how we saved ourselves from one mistake to the next.” Given the way the game went, the result was “okay,” said Müller.
And further: “It’s not what we set out to do. Not everything comes easily to us. We don’t have completely detached self-confidence.” But the team will now “not allow themselves to be dragged down” and will carry on. The bill will be settled in three weeks, says Müller.
