Svenja Rehm and her husband run a holiday rental agency on Amrum. Even as a child, the 44-year-old often spent her holidays on the North Sea island. Today she owns three apartments there, which she rents out to tourists. The couple also has two properties in Göttingen and are having a luxury villa built in Bali and an apartment in Panama. “In the long term, we would like to emigrate completely from Germany,” says Rehm in an interview with Business Insider. Her first step: moving to Mallorca a few weeks ago.
In addition to real estate and the agency, the couple relies on another source of income: dividends. “We only have stocks in our portfolio and we are really into dividend stocks,†says Rehm. The reason: The distributions would remind them of rental income.
