Chinese Swimming Team Dominates 2024 Doha World Swimming Championships
The 2024 Doha World Swimming Championships came to a successful close in the early morning of February 19th, Beijing time. The Chinese team achieved an outstanding performance, topping the total medal list with 23 gold medals. This triumphant result includes 9 golds and 4 silvers in diving and 7 golds in synchronized swimming. The team also secured 7 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze in swimming events, creating the best record in the world championships in team history.
The Chinese team set off a “youth storm” at the championships, breaking numerous records and reaching the top of the world in various events. 19-year-old Pan Zhanle emerged as the team’s standout performer and biggest gain from the competition. He achieved a world record in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay final and also won the men’s 100-meter freestyle event.
Tang Qianting also made history, winning the women’s 100-meter breaststroke event for the first time in 21 years for the Chinese team at the World Championships.
The team displayed exceptional strength in relay events as well, with Li Bingjie’s impressive comeback securing the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay championship. The men’s 4X200m freestyle relay final also brought victory as the Chinese team completed a stunning comeback, claiming the gold medal.
