Actress Bridgit Mendler known for her role as Teddy Duncan in Good luck Charlie! She revealed that she is a mother and CEO of a space company.
“I am the mother of a sweet 4-year-old boy,” the 31-year-old actress wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I adopted him around Christmas 2022. I’m very lucky. —Being a mother is the greatest gift and the most defining experience that exists.”
Some television critics assured, at the time, that Mendler had a bright future on the Disney Channel small screen; However, she decided to turn to other professional activities.
In recent years, the former Disney star attended MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Harvard Law School; and in the coming months, she will launch her satellite venture called Northwood Space in the California city of El Segundo.
In an interview for the network CNBC, Mendler said that “space is getting easier in many different dimensions, but the actual exercise of sending data to and from space remains difficult.” And he added that he “has difficulty finding an access point to contact his satellite.”
One of the goals of the newly formed company will be to mass produce ground stations; It does not intend to dedicate itself – at least not initially – to building rockets or satellites. Mendler’s idea is to create teleports, which are circular antennas that connect to satellites in space.
Northwood has attracted so much attention from investors that it has already attracted capital – albeit venture capital – of six million dollars from Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz and Also Capital. It is believed that the company will attempt to establish its first satellite connection later this year.
