The FIGC Prosecutor’s Office has not yet opened an investigation but – ANSA learns – it has taken action on the racist chants aimed at McKennie by the Biancocelesti fans which allegedly occurred during the Italian Cup semi-final between Juventus and Lazio when the player was replaced American.
They were not noted in the reports of the race inspectors, which is why the procedure requires that the Prosecutor’s Office first monitor, including on the web and social media, and upon completion, in the case of audio or video evidence, open an investigation.
In the meantime, the Juventus club is “investigating” what happened after having “noted the video circulated on social media and taken up by some press outlets”.
