The 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference with the theme of “Innovation: Building a Better World” is set to take place from April 25th to 29th at a newly constructed permanent venue. The conference, announced at a press conference by the State Council Information Office on April 17, will feature five major sections and nearly 120 activities involving over 100 countries and regions, as well as more than 150 foreign government departments and international organizations.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the Artificial Intelligence Theme Day on April 27, which will bring together more than a hundred renowned figures in the field, including five Nobel Prize and Turing Award winners. The event aims to showcase groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence and boost Beijing’s status as a hub for innovation in the industry.
According to Yu Yingjie, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the 2024 Forum Annual Meeting will be characterized by “four more”: more openness, cutting edge technologies, attention to practical results, and better experiences for attendees. The conference will host a variety of forums and parallel events focusing on topics such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, blockchain, and synthetic biology manufacturing.
The Zhongguancun Forum has emerged as a crucial platform for Beijing’s International Science and Technology Innovation Center to engage in external exchanges. Vice Minister of Science and Technology Chen Jiachang emphasized the importance of supporting the construction of Beijing’s innovation center, with the goal of becoming a global leader in scientific and technological innovation. The conference aims to deepen international cooperation, attract top talents in the field, and drive the city’s development as a modern industrial and technological powerhouse.
