After joint discussions in Berlin, the SPD politician said that he was open to demands for greater de-bureaucratization, for example. Other points, however, are not negotiable for the federal government. States and associations now have until the end of the month to comment on a first draft law.
Four federal states had previously called for the reform not to be launched without the approval of the Federal Council in a report. Schleswig-Holstein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria warned that the new law could be unconstitutional if the state chamber was not involved. The aim of the hospital reform is, among other things, to change the remuneration system and the hospitals should also become more specialized
