In the crime thriller, the character Susanne Koch accidentally gets caught in the middle of the criminal explosion of an ATM and, as she lies unconscious on the ground, is kidnapped as an unpleasant witness. The policewoman remains in the control of a criminal in a forest hut for many hours.
That was also a challenge for the make-up, says Droste: “We actually took a lot of the dirt on site. And then there was a request from the camerawoman Lea Striker: When an explosion occurs, a very fine white dust falls on everything around.” On the one hand, healing clay was used for the effect on the face. “Our make-up artist actually had white dirt from another shoot. This was then distributed evenly over the face as dust using a very fine funnel that you can blow through.”
It was extremely important to the makers that it looked as realistic as possible. “It shouldn’t be a lot of blood and a lot of dirt, just really fine.” It was always nice to “get a warm washcloth in the evening and wash it off,” the actress recalled.
“The Inspector and Fear” is the fourth film by the investigator duo Martin Brühl (Roeland Wiesnekker) and Susanne Koch (Meike Droste). Directed by Andreas Senn.
