The Dinner at Simone’s house, by Paolo Veronese, becomes the starting point to find the differences between the real version and the virtual one reproduced in the app. The theorbo player, by Antiveduto Gramatica, challenges the visitor to a revised version of Magic Tiles, in which you have to play this great bass lute on your smartphone. And the visitor himself becomes a sort of Mario Bros who moves between the corridors and halls of the Galleria Sabauda in Turin, trying to collect points, letting himself be guided by the works on display.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the test
by Icilio Bellanima
It is called MRT Play, the new gamification application available for iOs and Android, conceived by the Royal Museums in collaboration with Visivalab SL, conquers the Sabauda Gallery. As pointed out by Rosella Arcadi, Mrt Digital Strategies coordinator: “The app is part of the broader GODigital project funded by the Switch call of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. In the coming months we will renew the site, equip the Royal Museums with digital signage and continue to increase gamification opportunities within the museum complex, to address new audiences “. Young people, but not only, even entire families, adults, curious people. Mrt Play is the result of nine months of study, to integrate the playful dimension with the scientific one, but also to understand which types of games to bet on. “We made many interviews, polled online, collected voices of different ages – explains Riccardo Auci, Co-founder & CEO of Visivalab -. In the end, the common denominators were represented by Tetris, Pacman, Mario Bros and the puzzle week. And around these pillars we have built the structure and the challenges to conquer the Savoyard Gallery. The innovative element compared to other gamification proposals is that Mrt Play brings the person into the museum to be able to play, putting together three elements: work of art , technological element and visitor “.
How Mrt Play works
Once you have downloaded the app from the main digital stores or by framing the DR Codes scattered in the Sabauda Gallery, you can register quickly by entering your nickname and choosing the game level. So it remains to be decided whether you want to play alone or as a team. In the second case, by creating the team, a QR Code is generated, which, when framed by the other participants, will allow them to become part of it. At this point it remains to choose who you want to be among the six characters available, three linked to the history of Turin, three linked to the professionalism of Cultural Heritage. The choice of character characterizes the course of the visit, since each character corresponds to a different game perspective and different quizzes related to different works. In this way it is possible to repeat the experience several times, from different points of view.

Gran Turismo: the future of sport (and not just esports) passes from here
by Emilio Cozzi
This is the beginning of the adventure that unfolds along the halls of the picture gallery and through the 10 sectors recreated on the map, to be “conquered”, through a mini-game and a set of riddles.
Wandering through the halls of the Galleria Sabauda, following your movements on your smartphone, you will have to go hunting for the signals that will be sent when you are near a work. At this point the search for the picture begins, marked with special symbols, and the game begins. You will have to complete puzzles, make drawings on the screen, answer questions about the works on display. A training phase corresponds to each playful phase, which offers information in a fun and engaging way.

Each conquered room will be marked with a flag. When the player has passed all the tests, he will be able to see his final score (which will also take into account the times used in the solution of games and puzzles) and his position in the general classification.
The next step will be to add a new layer. “We started with the Galleria Sabauda, but soon we will be able to enter the Gardens and then the Royal Armory – concludes Rosella Arcadi -, up to involving the entire pole of the Royal Museums”.
