Air Italy, technical agreement tests

by admin

It is the hour of auspices. In other words, the extension of the social safety nets instead of the collective redundancies for Air Italy workers, scheduled for June 30th. In the story concerning the future of the employees of the Sardinian Qatari airline in liquidation since February 2020, there is hope. Because the extension of the social safety nets for the 1,383 workers distributed between Olbia and Malpensa could be requested.

Videoconferencing

An act that could prevent, at least for the moment, collective dismissal. This is what emerged during the video conference meeting, updated to June 30, which was attended by the trade unions, representatives of the ministries of Labor, Transport and Economic Development, the regions of Sardinia and Lombardy and the liquidators of the airline. «The meeting has been updated but there has been an opening – says Arnaldo Boeddu, general secretary of Filt Sardegna -. Today we can say that a step forward has been made compared to how the parties left each other last time ».

The liquidators

Then the discussion: “There was an opening from the liquidators on the request for a further layoff period until 31-12-2021 but, pending the completion of the bureaucratic process that also allows AirItaly in liquidation to be able to take advantage of social safety nets without any burden for the company – argues Boeddu -, the liquidators would like the signing of an agreement signed by all the trade unions with which, in essence, the dismissals would be ratified to some extent after the redundancy period “.

The trade unions

Request considered by the unions “unacceptable”. Claudio Tarlazzi, general secretary of Uiltrasporti and the National Secretary, Ivan Viglietti, also share the same opinion. “On June 30th our Trade Union Organization expects to sign an agreement that revokes the dismissal procedure in place, registers the company commitment to access the extension of the Cigs and puts in place, with the active and, finally, proactive collaboration of Mise and Mims a process of building industrial solutions to guarantee a future for air transport and almost 1,400 families ».

The Labor Commission of the Chamber

The president of the Labor Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Romina Mura, takes a stand, noting that the “negotiation must continue until the only possible outcome, that is, the extension of the fund”: layoffs – he says -. It must be clear that with the Minister Orlando we are putting all possible effort, while Air Italy does not put a euro, so avoid blackmail and take another step forward ».
