The task of Wydad Athletic in preserving the CAF Champions League title was complicated, after its goalless draw with Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, in the match that brought them together this evening, Saturday, on the floor of the Mohammed V sports complex in Casablanca, for the first leg of the semi-finals.
Despite the numerical shortage in the ranks of Sun Downs, from which two players were expelled, the South African team was able to withstand Al-Ahmar and snatch a valuable draw that will facilitate its mission in the return match.
It is scheduled that Mamelodi Sun Downs will receive its counterpart, Wydad Athletic, next Saturday, at the “Loftus Versfeld” stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
