From the beginning we underlined how the seventeenth edition of the Trento Economy Festival would be a great opportunity for comparison and growth for the entire city, for Trentino and for the country. Not a Sole 24 Ore event, but an opportunity for comparison across the board to have more tools for understanding where the world is going in moments of epochal change.
A year ago we realized that, after the pandemic, nothing would be the same again. And that there were the conditions for calling into question consolidated paradigms, with the alternative between Order and Disorder. The war in Ukraine represented a sensational acceleration, with effects all to be verified.
The agenda of the Festival, scheduled from 2 to 5 June next, confirms that we had been right and that we were speaking by defining a program full of events in which the most representative characters of the economy, university, institutions, entrepreneurship and finance will be in Trento to share moments of encounter and reflection. It is the right time to do it.
After two years of pandemic and with the ongoing war in Ukraine, the global order is looking for a new balance between West and East, between poor and rich, between industry and finance. And, above all, it is not at all clear what the drop point will be. A profound transformation is underway that is changing history and our daily life, a succession of events that deserve to be deepened and analyzed. The Trento Festival of Economics therefore represents a formidable opportunity to reflect on the economic, political and social reality we are experiencing.
Tradition and innovation distinguish the new format of the Festival. The tradition is represented by the academy and university strand and will see alternating meetings and dialogues with Nobel Laureates and international economists. Innovation is represented by two new lines of study that have been added: on the one hand the industrial economy, which is too often neglected in a country that has never had an adequate industrial policy, and on the other hand the economy of territories, which represents the backbone of the Italian system and of which Trentino is the standard bearer and for this reason we have built a dedicated program with the involvement of the local reference realities of the Trentino area.
