Anima changes its statute: the independence restriction for the president is removed

During an important meeting of Anima’s shareholders, Alessandro Melzi d’Eril announced a significant change to the company statute, eliminating the independence requirement for the position of president. This change opens the door to the possibility of renewing the mandate of the current president, who has led the company for a long period.

Until today, in fact, the internal regulations required the choice of an independent president, defined as a figure not involved in the administration of the company or its subsidiaries for more than nine years in total out of the last twelve. This criterion would have prevented Patrizia Grieco, current president of Anima and member of the board since 2014, from obtaining re-election.

With the new provisions, shareholders now have the freedom to propose Grieco’s candidacy for a further mandate, marking a significant change in corporate governance.
