Made to celebrate 50 years of BMW’s M division, the new CLS is the most extreme variant of the M4 and has been designed to go fast both on the road and on the track: 0-100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and 307 self-limited maximum speed km / h. For this purpose, the BMW technicians have subjected it to a strict slimming treatment: 100 kg less than the M4 Competition from which it derives. At the same time, the three-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder that has under the bonnet has gained 40 hp more for a total of 550 hp, while the traction remains rear, but with a different set-up as the aerodynamics have changed. In terms of performance, the M4 CSL is more performing than the Competition, so much so that it sets the record for an M: 7.20.207 on the North Ring of the Nurgurgring. The M4 CLS debuted at the recent Concorso d’Eleganza di Villa d’Este and will be produced from July in Dingolfing in 1,000 units.
