The long wave of the building renovation boom also comes in the distribution of sector products, where the French chain Bricoman has announced an important expansion plan for Italy and also a change of brand. The new name of the stores will in fact be Tecnomat and under this banner this year there will be 3 new openings that will be added to the 28 existing stores today. In three years, there will be 12 new stores, with the aim of reaching 40 throughout the country, and 70 by 2030.

Ā«Each store employs about 150 people with an average turnover of around 50 million euros. The territorial development plan that we have defined and which sees 4 new openings every year, will create about 600 more jobs per year ā€, says the managing director, Maria Tamborra. The project is to become, by 2025, a leader in sales volumes of professional technical and finishing products for home maintenance, renovation and construction. If the plan were completed, this means that in Italy the chain would employ 1,800 people by 2024 and 6,300 between now and 2030. Numbers to which all the related activities that will be generated must be added.

On the new sign, Tamborra explains that “we have long dreamed of a name that could strengthen our identity on the market and help us to be even closer to our customers, offering them professional brands, products immediately available and in large quantities, transparent and cheaper prices. of the market, speed of purchase and schedules from specialists Ā». The name Tecnomat encompasses Ā«the concept ofā€œ technical materials ā€, with a word that is easy to read, which does not allow for pronunciation errors and which characterizes us more as a Pro teaches without neglecting to address private citizensĀ», continues Tamborra.

The renaming project will start with the inauguration of the Tecnomat in Assemini, Sardinia, which will replace the historic Elmas store, the first Bricoman brand in Italy.
The brand change will then continue in all the other stores, while the territorial development plan foresees 3 new openings in 2022, in Ravenna, Rimini and Capodrise (Caserta). By 2024 it will be the turn of 12 new stores in Piedmont, Lazio, Lombardy and Sicily.
