Calisto Tanzi, from the intuitions of milk in cartons to the financial crash: the parable of the former king of Parmalat

MILANO – Many years before the financial scandals and convictions, in the life of Calisto Tanzi there had been the insights. The first, at the origin of everything, is to go from pig to cow. From cured meats produced by the small company founded by his grandfather, to an unconventional business in a land of hams: milk. The second: to distribute it for the first time not in glass bottles but in small cardboard containers, the Tetrapak, already used in Northern Europe.
