The finalist models, specifically, are six full electric models, two of which also boast a version with a combustion engine and one model is also offered as a full hybrid or hybrid plug-in. The seven cars are: BMW 5 Series/i5, the BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot 3008/E-3008, Renault Scenic E-Tecx Electric, Toyota C-HR and Volvo EX30.
All can be tried in the three locations on Saturday and Sunday (in Milan also on Friday) simply by registering on the website www.auto.it/eventi/coty. To find out who the Car of the Year 2024 will be, chosen by 59 journalists from 22 countries, we will have to wait until February 26 when it will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show.
The choice of Milan, Breuil Cervinia and Courmayeur as locations to display and test the cars is not accidental. The monthly magazine Auto wanted to give the opportunity to carry out test drives in different road conditions: snow and mountain hairpin bends in the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc area and classic urban routes in the Milanese city. Furthermore, Breuil-Cervinia and Courmayeur were chosen to “reward” the Aosta Valley as the greenest region of Italy. The region is able to independently produce the energy necessary for its own needs and the remaining 65% of energy is fed into the national electricity grid. Furthermore, it is the region that offers the greatest number of charging stations compared to the number of inhabitants.
