How do you become a supplier to one of the large UN agencies? How to participate in the major international tenders announced by Multilateral Banks? What are the opportunities and critical issues offered by the Mattei Plan? And which ones are those of the European Commission’s Global Gateway? These are some of the questions to which it will be possible to find answers at Codeway Expo, the Development Cooperation Fair, which will be held at Fiera Roma from May 15th to 17th. Organized by Fiera Roma and Internationalia, with the scientific partnership of The European House Ambrosetti, the event is organized with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and the Lazio Region, the patronage of Maeci, Aics and Cnr and in collaboration with Unops, Ice/ Ita and Een.
For three days all Cooperation actors, starting from political and financial institutions, through companies, civil society organizations, international bodies, local authorities and universities will be able to meet and discuss the main topics of interest for the world of Cooperation.
The Fair will be opened by the Vice Minister with responsibility for Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, by the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, by the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Marco Riccardo Rusconi, by the General Director of the Italian Trade Agency Lorenzo Galanti and by Anne-Claire Howard, Director of the UNOPS Procurement Group.
Codeway, which was created to put the private sector in contact with the world of Cooperation, this year includes various moments aimed at companies: among which the focus on Procurement, Finance and pitches to present ideas and products stand out.

Codeway Expo is a central event for the world of the private sector that wants to invest in development cooperation and the Agency wants to accompany this world, also driven by the Mattei Plan, in a strengthened commitment. In this, the logic of partnership is fundamental: companies that perhaps have not yet appeared in the Cooperation partner countries can do so in alliance with other subjects, starting from civil society organizations that those countries and territories know very well” comments the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Marco Riccardo Rusconi.

From this perspective, he promotes responsible business actions, meetings, relationships, activities that open up prospects for growth and employment, especially for the younger generations.”
For the first time, 7 United Nations agencies, coordinated by Unops, will be brought together to explain to companies the principles and methods for becoming suppliers of the large agencies of the UN system, with particular attention to the food, health and humanitarian sectors.
Thanks to the contribution of the Foreign Network Office of Agenzia Ice, companies will have the unique opportunity to meet and network with the procurement managers of 6 important international multilateral banks, among the most active in financial cooperation projects. In particular, representatives of the World Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be present at the Fair.
And if the first day focuses on the interaction between companies and international cooperation bodies, the second day will focus on Italy and Europe. In collaboration with AVSI on the morning of the 16th we will talk about the Mattei Plan for Africa, sharing successful experiences and we will question ourselves about doubts in the presence of the top management of the Mattei Plan control room in Palazzo Chigi and Paolo Lombardo of the International Cooperation and Finance Directorate for the Development of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp).
In the afternoon, the Global Gateway, the 300 billion euro European investment plan in cooperation, will be illustrated to companies, reviewing the priority projects and sharing the experience of those who have been following it for months.
The Italian financial system active in cooperation and internationalization (Cdp, Sace, Simest) will then be available to companies for meetings and evaluations.
Finally, on the last day, we will talk about emergency healthcare and agriculture, while in the Arena the companies that responded to the Call for Ideas in recent months and that were selected will be able to hold a ‘Pitch’ to present to the world of Cooperation and its actors products and projects kept in the drawer.
Finally, in parallel to the official programme, collateral events organized by associations and organizations will be held over the 3 days: Aics, Unido Itpo, Iila, Italian Association for Arbitration, Confartigianato, Ciheam, Iom, Link2007.
