“With the Fit-for-55 package, Europe has thrown the glove of an unprecedented industrial policy challenge”. Thus Aurelio Regina, Confindustria delegate for Energy and the energy transition regarding the approval of the ‘climate package’ by Europe. “It is an important environmental objective for future generations that must commit the whole of society to finalize, through an inclusive and non-ideological dialogue, a reference framework capable of combining the objective of making the EU economy green without penalizing businesses and Countries that, as in the case of Italy, have progressively increased their efforts to accelerate the energy and environmental transition, now reaching frontier positions in many economic sectors ”- underlined Regina. “The Commission itself – he continued – expects at EU level an overall investment need by 2030 of over 3,500 billion, of which over 600 for Italy. This is an unprecedented plan that forces us to change gear and move from the discussion on the objectives, now decided, to a pragmatic debate on the solutions, considering all the possible options on the basis of cost and real effectiveness, to avoid generating potential repercussions negative for European companies and a useless waste of resources ”, observed the Delegate of the Confindustria president.

“In our country there are fundamental basic sectors for the development of the green economy and manufacturing leadership ready to seize the great opportunities offered by the new scenario. For this reason, the debate on the environment must be accompanied by a national and European industrial policy aimed at also building an ecosystem for sustainable industrial development ”, concluded Regina.
