Delays and Discontent: Fincimex Faces Backlash Over Remittance Operations

Fincimex, a financial company that processes remittances to Cuba, has claimed to have no pending remittance operations. However, users have reported delays and a lack of response from the company.

Following a banking incident that affected money transfers to the island, Fincimex assured that they have no pending operations. But users on social media platforms have been expressing frustrations over delays in receiving their money.

One user stated on the company’s official Facebook page, “How long do we have to continue waiting for our money to reach the cards, because since January 22 my money has been up in the air.” In response, Fincimex advised the user to have their sender claim the money at the origin, as they have no pending operations on that date.

Another user claimed that the sender had made multiple complaints but was unable to cancel the transaction. Despite reassurances from the agency through which the money was sent, the user has yet to receive the funds.

This lack of communication and inconsistencies in compensation processes have led to uncertainty and distrust among Cubans who depend on remittances for economic support. The fact that agencies like Western Union have not resumed shipments to the island further underscores the ongoing issues with remittance operations to Cuba.

While Fincimex has stated that it is possible to claim for delayed remittances and that compensation is available for failed transfers, users continue to report unresolved complaints and unaddressed concerns on the company’s website. The persistent problems with remittances highlight the urgent need for improved communication and transparency in the process.
